Child Protection

CHILD PROTECTION

Children are the most vulnerable members of society that are exposed to the threats of physical, emotional abuses, domestic violence, environmental health hazards, preventable accidents, preventable spread of communicable diseases and etc.
An adults evolutionary instinct to protect his offspring spans across all primates. This congenital instinct ca be altered and influenced by the  presence of serious mental impairment that impair perception, cognition and intelligence. Episodes of an adults negligence in the care of his or her children may stem from the effects of severe psychosocial stress.

Stress

STRESS

Human is not immune to stress. There is no vaccine discovered by the modern science to protect us from stress. Our thoughts race at a speed of light from past to the future jumping over the present. Our thoughs trick our brain, by distracting it to focus into the present moment or actuality. Therefore human gets overwhelmed and becomes suscptible to the deleterious effects of stress such as anxiety neurosis, reactive dpression, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, muscle pain, headache, insomnia and reduced immunity that potenttionally predisposes human to contraction of infection and cancer.

Attachment to the Past

Our existence as a beings does not cede by the end of life. We continue to live in the memories of significant others..

The present is but a continuation of the past unless intervened by death. Our memories of the past exist independently from our conscious world.

Grieving is an attachment to the past,.as reflected in this painting. One of the most impressive concepts of grieving is reflected in the famous painting " The Scream " by Munch, a Norwegian artist.

The loss of beloved one is perceived differently in different cultures. However the process of accepting a loss is universal and it goes through estabilished stages such as anger, disbelieve, negotiation and finally acceptance.

History of Primitive Medicine

HISTORY OF PRIMITIVE MEDICINE
IN PRIMITIVE CULTURE ILLNESS WAS .BELIEVED  TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY EVIL FORCE OR FOREIGN OBJECT INTO A PERSON BY MAGIC OR SORCERY:

THE NIGHT ON HE BEACH.
" AM SCARED TO WALK ALONG THE BEACH AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS VERY DARK. I HAVE READ A MYTH MENTIONING THAT THERE ARE SOULS WONDERING AROUND THE BEACH AT NIGHT I AM APPREHENSIVE ABOUT BEING POSSESSED BY A FOREIGN SPIRIT. I DO NOT WANT TO BE POSSESSED BY EVIL SPIRITS. EVIL SPIRIT HEALERS ARE FAR DISTANT FROM THIS AREA. I AM NOT RICH ENOUGH TO AFFORD A WITCH DOCTOR TO ENSNARE THE OFFENDING SPIRIT."

Seasonal Affective Disorder

GREY WEATHER AFFECTIVE DISORDER
It is an affective disorder that occurs cyclically with specific seasons of the year.
Grey weather may elicit depression in susceptible individuals. The concept of this painting addresses the importance of bright natural light  to the maintainance of mental wellbeing.A thrust  of light through a door hiatus implies a holistic and altruistic treatment appproach of seasonal affective disorders.

Melancholia

MELANCHOLIA

It is a deep feeling of detachment from previously experienced bliss of life.
Hippocrates in the 4th century BC indicated that melancholia is caused by an imbalance in one of the 4 bodily liquids in humans. Preponderance to melancholia was linked to a type of personality "Black Bile" the Greed word for melancholia.
In 2010 Avicenna, the father of Medicine had mentioned and described Melancholia in his book " Canon of Medicine" in Arab " Khanuun" of Medicine" He described melancholia as an affective disorder manifestation of which could point to depression . He cited the manifestation of this disoder namely phobia nd suspiciousness.

About Memory

ABOUT MEMORY
Memory flows similiar to the current of the river. It crosses through a milestone of life experiences. Its supporting fundament is the memory centers of the brain ( pre frontal and hippocampus ) Memory Center is like a data processing station. It tracks all your life experiences. Retrieving from the data memory is like travelling against the flow of the river. In Physics the ground is not static. Indeed it counteracts the current force of the river in the opposite direction.
River flows on a ground surface the abscence of which this would not have been possible. Nature is very smart.
We would not be either able to track and record our pastr experiences wihtout the memory centers.
Conceptual art wisdom. You don't have to accept my citation.

Fertility vs Infertility

FERTILITY VS INFERTILITY
In women fertility is the ability to ovulate and conceive. The child bearing age sets in upon menarche and cedes with the onset of menopause. The inability to get pregnant in some African cultures is perceived as a Divine punishemnt. In such communities infertile women are treated with empathy. This painting portrays the psychosocial impact of inferftility in Africa. It mirrors an infertile sad woman desperately wishing to be pregnant. In Africa such desires are hard to obtain. Health care Delivery is not up to the world standard. Medical science and technology is at its early stage of progress in some regions of Africa. In such circumstances women are prone to affective disorders such as anxiety neurosis and depression. They develope somes feelings  of incompleteness and inferiority.
