Headache

HEADACHE reppresents one of the most distressful and frightening human experiences seen by doctors worldwide. Tension headaches are the most prevalent type of headaches, followed by migrain headaches. Headaches have no race predilection and interestingly enough are more common in females than males. In Africa one of the of the treatment approaches includes application of moist cool compresses over the forehead, which alleviates the sympathetic arousal linked to pain.It also might reduce the cerebral vasodilatation which is believed to trigger the mechanism of headache initiation. In addition to the above approaches, in some cultures wrapping tthe head tighly with a piece of cloth is believed to help patients with headaches.
